The New York Jets are going through a lot right now.
Losing their starting quarterback four plays into the season was a deadly blow to their aspirations, especially considering all the hype and excitement before the start of the campaign.
Zach Wilson was once again thrown into the fire, and he’s been in a tough spot from the start of the season.
His performances have left a lot to be desired, with even team legend Joe Namath claiming to be ‘disgusted’ by his awful play.
However, as harsh as everyone has been on him, Wilson was still quite respectful when asked about it by the media, stating that Namath is one of the greats and that he needs to do better to prove him and all his critics wrong (via JPA Football).
𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚: Despite being heavily bashed by the media, fans and even former #Jets players, Zach Wilson remains completely professional and respectful when answering questions… it makes me want to see him succeed.

Truth be told, one cannot help but feel kind of bad for Wilson.
Granted that he’s never played well and he might not be suited for the job, but he’s always embraced the criticism head-up and has always been accountable.
Perhaps the team needs to cut him loose a little and allow him to take risks and shots downfield like he used to do during his days at BYU.
At this point, it can’t get a lot worse for him, and he’d at least be playing his game.
