Through two weeks of the 2023 NFL season, the Washington Commanders are starting to look like an interesting wild card.
The Commanders picked up their second win of the season after going on the road and beating the Denver Broncos.
Washington managed to overcome a first-half deficit and rally in the fourth quarter to take home the win, a gutsy performance from such a young roster.
Sam Howell has looked great as the team’s full-time starter as he racked up another 299 passing yards and two touchdowns against the Broncos.
Howell also got plenty of help from Brian Robinson Jr. who carried the football 18 times for 87 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
At the heart of the offense’s turnaround is offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and he drew praise from Tyreek Hill via the wide receiver’s Twitter account.
Feels good to see Coach EB dialing shiii up on that commander sideline

Hill is quite familiar with Bieniemy during their time together with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Commanders’ OC has managed to bring that success over to his new team.
Although Bieniemy may not be working with Patrick Mahomes anymore, he’s been able to maximize Howell who can both pass and scramble if required.
Bieniemy’s got real weapons in Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Robinson as well as Antonio Gibson who can act as a pass-catching option out of the backfield.
Through two games, Washington and Bieniemy have to be feeling good about where the offense is though they’ll have to really be able to put up points when they take on the Buffalo Bills in Week 3.
