The Houston Texans found their guy, and they know it.
What seemed like a catastrophe last year may have been a blessing in disguise for the Texans organization.
Former HC Lovie Smith knew that he was about to get fired and he didn’t want to leave on a low note, so he made sure to get his guys ready to compete for a win in the regular-season finale vs. the Indianapolis Colts.
That win cost the Texans the No. 1 pick, falling to No. 2 instead.
However, for TE Brevin Jordan, it was actually the best thing that could’ve happened to the organization, as they now have “the right guy” on the team (via JPAFootball).
Wow: #Texans TE Brevin Jordan says the team’s win against the #Colts last year was the “best” thing to happen to the Texans organization…
The Texans couldn’t draft Bryce Young because of that win… and instead ended up drafting CJ Stroud.

Of course, one could consider this a bit of a shot at Bryce Young, who went No. 1 overall and hasn’t been very impressive thus far.
Young missed Week 3’s clash vs. the Seattle Seahawks with an ankle injury, all while Stroud led the Texans to the first win of the DeMeco Ryans era, and on the road vs. a divisional rival.
Notably, Stroud has posted some impressive numbers and has displayed glimpses of greatness through the first three games of his young career.
Needless to say, whatever he does or doesn’t do will always be compared to Young, granted that they went No. 1 and No. 2.
Even so, some players are better suited for some teams and situations, and it doesn’t have to do with one being better than the other.
Still, Young is definitely going to keep receipts after hearing about this.
