The Chicago Bears have been fairly disappointing to start the season.
Considering the big moves they made in the offseason, and judging by Justin Fields’ strong second half of last season, they were expected to look much better.
Some analysts even expected Fields to be a dark horse for MVP, as he would have more talent around him and a seemingly revamped offensive line.
That’s why Stephen A. Smith doesn’t believe he should be to blame for their 0-2 record and poor performance overall.
In the latest edition of “First Take,” Stephen A. stated that he believes Fields doesn’t want to be a part of that organization anymore, and he doesn’t blame him for that one bit (via NFL on ESPN).
“I can’t look at Justin Fields with that talent and say that’s him. … If this brother was in another organization he wouldn’t look like this.”@stephenasmith says the Bears are a “bad, bad situation” for Justin Fields pic.twitter.com/pwHA0safk5

He states that he’s seeing signs of apathy from the Ohio State product, which is even more worrisome than the apparent lack of development.
Smith adds that he doesn’t have any source stating that Fields isn’t happy in the Windy City, but he still believes that’s the reason behind their struggles.
Granted that both the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have looked much better than expected, but it’s not like those games have been close at all.
It’s still early in the season, and it might take a while before the new pieces get on the same page.
But things don’t look good for the 2023 Bears at all, and the fans are starting to lose their faith and patience for the young man who seemed poised to put an end to their struggles.
