The Dallas Cowboys got off to a convincing 2-0 start to the season.
However, regardless of how good they’ve looked through two games, Stephen A. Smith still isn’t ready to give them the nod as the best team in the NFC.
In the latest edition of “First Take,” the controversial pundit — who openly despises the Cowboys — didn’t seem impressed at all.
He stated that they haven’t faced good competition yet, and pointed at the San Francisco 49ers as the better team.
“Hell no. … It’s the 49ers, ain’t no damn Cowboys.”@stephenasmith says the Cowboys are NOT the best team in the NFL despite their 2-0 start. pic.twitter.com/TIfJ271uRf

He pointed out that Brock Purdy is currently No. 1 in QBR, all while Christian McCaffrey is the league’s best rusher.
Smith also stated that the level of talent they have on both sides of the field is simply superior to the Cowboys, not to mention the fact that they’ve faced better competition thus far.
Granted that Stephen A. has rarely had anything nice to say about the Cowboys, so this isn’t exactly surprising.
Also, it’s a fact that the Niners have gone against better teams thus far, but that shouldn’t take anything away from what Mike McCarthy’s team has accomplished.
Pundits have been skeptical of the Cowboys in the past, and rightfully so, as they have a tendency to fall short in the playoffs, especially against contending teams.
But we should also give credit where it’s due, and the Cowboys are playing like a legitimate Super Bowl contender right now.
Fortunately, we might get to see what’s what just three weeks from now when the Niners and Cowboys square off at Levi’s Stadium.
