To say that Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots have ruled the AFC East Division could be a bit of an understatement.
Belichick kept the division in a chokehold for the better part of two decades, leading them to 17 division titles thus far.
However, as dominant as he’s been, he hasn’t been at his best vs. the Miami Dolphins, especially as of late.
Boasting a 27-19 record against them — which isn’t impressive by his standards — the veteran coach has yet to beat them with Tua Tagovailoa behind center.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, the Alabama product is now 5-0 vs. Belichick’s Patriots after securing another win on Sunday Night Football.
Tua Tagovailoa improves to 5-0 against Bill Belichick with the win on Sunday night.
He is 1 of 4 QBs who are 5-0 or better against a Super Bowl-winning head coach.

The tweet also states that he’s now one of just four quarterbacks with a 5-0 or better record vs. a Super Bowl-winning head coach, joining the likes of Russell Wilson vs. Doug Pederson, Peyton Manning vs. Tom Coughlin, and Chris Chandler vs. Mike Ditka.
When asked about this remarkable milestone, the former No. 5 pick claimed that it was due to a team effort and not a personal thing, once again showing his leadership and team-first mentality.
Tua was coming off arguably the best start of his career, and while he wasn’t able to throw for 400+ yards vs. the Patriots’ elite defense, he was still poised and in control for most of the game.
He completed 21 of 30 passes for 249 yards, one touchdown, and one interception en route to a 24-17 win, and he continues to rank among the oddsmakers’ favorites to win the MVP award this season.
