Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season will be a much tougher test for the New York Jets as they head out on the road to face off against the Dallas Cowboys.
The matchup was going to be tough with Aaron Rodgers under center, but with him out for the remainder of the season the Jets will be rolling with Zach Wilson as the starter.
Wilson managed to lead New York to a victory over the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, but the Dallas defense is another beast as they’re coming off a shutout performance against the New York Giants.
The former number two overall pick has shown flashes, but more likely than not Robert Saleh will try to protect him as much as possible regarding the offensive gameplan.
The Cowboys already looked like a legitimate Super Bowl threat this season, so trying to beat them in their home stadium is a tall task.
However, Saleh remains confident in his roster because he believes there are more important factors to consider when it comes to winning on the road via Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Jets’ HC Robert Saleh believes that, no matter who the quarterback is, a team needs three elements to win on the road: a strong ground game, a tough defense, and sound special teams. The Jets believe they can check all those boxes going into Dallas today to play the Cowboys.

The strength of the Jets’ offense resides in the backfield as they’ve got one of the best one-two punches in the league in Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook.
Meanwhile, the defense is stout as they were able to slow down the high-powered Bills offense in their win.
As far as special teams goes, though, New York will be without Greg Zuerlein though they have a solid backup plan in Austin Seibert.
Saleh may be confident in his team, but they’ll still be considered massive underdogs.
