The Baltimore Ravens needed to make adjustments on their running back depth chart after J.K. Dobbins suffered a season-ending torn Achilles injury.
That’s why they are calling up veteran Melvin Gordon III to join Gus Edwards and Justice Hill in their backfield rotation.
The Around The NFL Twitter account shared, “Ravens elevate RB Melvin Gordon for Sunday’s road game vs. Cincinnati.”

The Ravens signed Gordon to a one-year contract in July.
However, he was released a month later before re-signing to the practice squad.
While he’s on the active roster, it’s uncertain if he will see some action for the Ravens against the AFC North rivals.
Gordon had 90 carries for 318 yards and two touchdowns in ten games for the Denver Broncos last season.
However, his tenure in Denver ended when the team waived him after committing five fumbles for the season.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed him to their practice squad last November, but he didn’t suit up for a regular season or playoff game.
Gordon’s best season as a pro occurred in 2017 when he had 284 carries for 1,105 yards and eight touchdowns for the Los Angeles Chargers.
That was his third year with the Chargers, who selected him 15th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.
The Ravens banked on their vaunted running game to defeat the Houston Texans during their season opener.
With Gordon in the fold, they are looking to do the same against the Bengals, a team that surrendered 206 yards last week, the second-worst among all teams during opening weekend.
