After the first three games of the 2023 NFL season, the New England Patriots are sporting a record of 1-2 after getting the best of the division-rival New York Jets, which turned out to be another close game for Bill Belichick and company.
As the Patriots are below .500, New England hasn’t been able to avoid criticism for its play on both sides of the football.
Although the consensus right now is that the Patriots are a good team defensively, New England still gave up 10 points to the Jets, which is a little surprising with quarterback Zach Wilson under center for Robert Saleh’s squad.
Former NFL player Ted Johnson didn’t go easy on the Patriots for their performance defensively against the Jets, as he thinks it is inexcusable that New England let Wilson drive down the field in 13 plays, via NBC Sports Boston.

At this point in time, the Patriots seem to be nothing more than a mediocre football team with a formidable defense and an offense that is shaky at best, with quarterback Mac Jones able to do only so much to put points on the board for New England.
In Week 4, things will only get tougher for the Patriots, with the team set to go on the road to face the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.
The Cowboys may be coming off a disappointing and shocking loss to the lowly Arizona Cardinals, but they’ll look to bounce back with a vengeance and take out their frustration on the Patriots.
