Today’s NFL is loaded with talent at the quarterback position, with the league potentially having more talented and versatile quarterbacks than it ever has, with players like Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, and Josh Allen leading the way.
Even though there are a lot of talented players at the quarterback position in today’s game, there’s always one or more set to come into the league the next year, and that’ll likely be the case in 2024.
One player at the college level who has made a lot of noise over the past couple of years is Caleb Williams of USC.
Williams has made such an impression during his time as the starting quarterback for USC that he was expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft before this college football season began.
In fact, Williams is so good that Nick Wright of FOX Sports thinks that when he’s officially an NFL player, he’ll already be a better player than superstars such as Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles and Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, via The Volume.

This is a bold statement from Wright, as the college game and the NFL are two different things, with some players, no matter how talented they may appear, simply unable to make the transition and be successful on the professional level.
Williams is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the country in college and may very well make an easy transition to the NFL game, but it is way too early to be talking like this with his time with USC yet to be concluded.
