The Kansas City Chiefs are officially Super Bowl champions for the third time in the Patrick Mahomes era.
This win has come despite not having an elite room of wide receivers, and they have now won two Super Bowls after trading Tyreek Hill.
With a lack of on-paper talent, Mahomes has needed to rely on unconventional receivers to get the job done, which he did in every game this year, including the Super Bowl.
Mecole Hardman came up big in this game, having a massive catch in the first half, and scoring the game-winning touchdown.
He wasn’t able to celebrate his big accomplishment at the time it happened, as Patrick Mahomes pointed out in a postgame interview.
In a video shared by Ariv Meirov, Mahomes pointed out Hardman blacked out after he caught the ball, not realizing what he had just done.
“I blacked out,” Hardman said.

With Hardman standing right next to him, all this pair could do was laugh it off, knowing what they had just accomplished.
Hardman might not have known it in real time, but he was a big reason for the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory.
He took some pressure off Travis Kelce in the receiving game, as he is a deep threat that the 49ers were forced to cover.
This resulted in some big plays for both athletes throughout the game, including the game-winner, where Kelce was a decoy for him as he was untouched in the endzone.
The Chiefs might have some questions to answer regarding their receivers in the offseason, but for now, their strategy worked just fine.
