One-possession games are not going the Minnesota Vikings’ way to start the 2023 NFL season.
Last season, they won 13 games by eight points or less.
This year, they’ve lost their first three matches by six points or less.
While that breakthrough victory has been elusive, the Vikings have been doing great on offense.
Kirk Cousins leads the league in passing yards, while Justin Jefferson has the most receiving yards through Week 3.
However, Minnesota’s struggles to win have only added to rumors of potential trade talks involving Jefferson.
He responded by saying that he is fed up by it.
“I’m tired of people saying that we’re looking into next season or all of the trades and stuff like that. We’re focused still on this season. At the end of the day it’s not going to be perfect every time,” Jefferson said to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert via BroBible NFL writer Dov Kleiman.

The Vikings are tied with the Chicago Bears at the bottom of the NFC North.
However, it’s easier to be optimistic about Minnesota’s chances to turn things around.
Their defense needs to play better and they have to solve their turnover issues.
While the Vikings rank third in total yards per game, they are struggling to convert them to points, ranking 17th after Week 3 (23 per game).
Trading Jefferson would certainly give them a ton of assets to rebuild their roster.
However, it’s questionable if the players they would get in return would amount to Jefferson’s impact on the game.
But with the NFL being a business, the possibility of a trade is on the table unless the Vikings give him a long-term extension.
