The Las Vegas Raiders dropped to 1-2 after a surprising start to the season.
They were favored by three points ahead of their home clash vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers, but they were only in the lead for a couple of minutes.
They managed to make it a game late in the fourth quarter, scoring a touchdown and a two-point conversion to make it an eight-point game.
Then, the defense did its job and gave the offense another chance to tie the game, which is why everyone was in disbelief when Josh McDaniels decided to kick a field goal down eight with just 2:22 minutes left in the game.
When asked about his decision, McDaniels stated that his team would’ve needed another possession anyway, perhaps failing to realize that he could’ve won the game in overtime, via Around the NFL and NFL.com.

To make this decision even more head-scratching, he made that call not once, but twice.
He kicked a 48-yard field goal with little over three minutes left, but a flag gave them a new set of downs.
They managed to get the ball to the Steelers’ eight-yard line on fourth-and-four before deciding to take the three points again.
McDaniels’ clock-management and decision-making have been heavily criticized since his first stint as a head coach, and he didn’t do a lot to help his case last season, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
The Raiders will now look to bounce back in a divisional clash vs. the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday in a duel between controversial decision-makers.
