The Zach Wilson ride for the New York Jets hit another low point as he and the team lost at home to the New England Patriots in Week 3.
It marked the second consecutive loss for the Jets with Wilson under center, though at least this time the team had a chance to come back and win.
However, most of the credit should be given to the defense as they were able to keep the Patriots at 15 points for most of the day and gave Wilson and the offense ample opportunities to catch.
The third-year quarterback wound up completing 18 of 36 passes for 157 yards, though no touchdowns.
It was yet another argument that New York should cut bait with Wilson and look elsewhere for a starting quarterback if they’re serious about salvaging their season.
In fact, Wilson’s play has been so bad that it drew harsh words from Jets legend Joe Namath via Rich Cimini of ESPN.
“I’ve seen enough of Zach Wilson,” Namath said.
Joe Namath, speaking on @TMKSESPN, says he would trade Zach Wilson: “I’ve seen enough of Zach Wilson.” Namath says Wilson’s performance was “disgusting,” adding there were no positives. Wow. #Jets

Namath echoes the same sentiment a lot of Jets fans must have as the team has looked so bad on offense that it can be hard to watch at times.
Aaron Rodgers would have been able to prop up this unit, but Wilson is not the future Hall of Famer and has looked out of his depth through two weeks.
While Robert Saleh continues to back Wilson, New York has no choice but to evaluate their options because these types of performances are hurting morale and fan engagement.
With a Week 4 date against the Kansas City Chiefs next, Wilson could very well be fighting for his job.
