The new era of Houston Texans football is officially here as C.J. Stroud is projected to be the future face of the franchise.
The Texans selected Stroud number two overall in the 2023 NFL Draft and paired him with first-time head coach DeMeco Ryans.
After losing their first two games of the 2023 NFL season, Houston finally got themselves in the win column with a convincing victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Despite the roster being so young, the Texans have shown flashes of the kind of team they can be and have all season to develop and improve together.
Watching this current group must be refreshing for a fanbase that has been far removed from its heyday when they had players like J.J. Watt lining up to terrorize opposing quarterbacks.
Watt is scheduled to be inducted into the Texans’ Ring of Honor this Sunday and ahead of the ceremony he took out a full-page ad in the Houston Chronicle via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Watt wrote a heartfelt letter to the city of Houston where he recounted the day he got drafted and how excited he was for the opportunity to play for the NFL.
The former defensive end continued by thanking all the people who helped him along his journey and concluded by saying that the city would always be family to him.
Watt established himself as one of the best players in franchise history and it is going to be an emotional moment for him and his family this weekend when he is immortalized in the organization.
