Star pass rusher T.J. Watt just made Pittsburgh Steelers history.
One sack vs. the Cleveland Browns helped him climb all the way to the top of the franchise’s historic leaderboard, boasting 81.5 thus far.
That’s why his older brother, J.J. Watt, took to Twitter to voice his support for him, stating that he’s the best defensive player on the planet and its time people stop trying to make a case for anybody else right now.
TJ WATT is the best defensive player on the planet.
Stop trying to question it, stop trying to justify anyone else.
He is the best. Period.

Of course, J.J. might be slightly biased in favor of his brother, but it’s hard to argue with this statement.
Watt has led the league in sacks twice, including 22.5 in the 2021 season alone.
He’s got 4.0 sacks this season alone and is already a future first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer, former NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and future member of the Steelers’ Ring of Honor.
The fact that he’s just 29 years old and has done all of this in just seven years is also remarkable, especially considering the plethora of defensive superstars the Steelers have had throughout the course of history.
Whether Watt is the best defensive player in the game or not is up for debate, but he’s top-five at worst.
We cannot ignore the likes of Aaron Donald, Nick Bosa, Micah Parsons, and Chris Jones, and where you rank any of them is up to you.
Whatever the case, Watt is going to continue making history for years to come, and he’ll look to prove his brother’s point next week vs. the Houston Texans.
