After losing to the upstart Detroit Lions in Week 1, the Kansas City Chiefs got on track with a 17-9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
It wasn’t the prettiest of wins, but a couple of players did particularly well for the defending Super Bowl champs.
Second-year wide receiver Skyy Moore had an excellent day with 70 receiving yards and a touchdown, while running back Isiah Pacheco ran for 70 yards on the ground on just 12 carries.
After the game, Pacheco told NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe that the Chiefs are “back and ready to roll.”
“It means we’re back and ready to roll.”

As a rookie last year, Pacheco ran for 830 yards and five touchdowns, and he appears to be on track to match that type of production this season.
Kansas City badly needs young players such as him to step up, because this is a different Kansas City team than the two that won it all the past few years.
Tyreek Hill, the star speedster wide receiver, is long gone, and JuJu Smith-Schuster, their most productive wideout in 2022, is now a member of the New England Patriots.
The Chiefs currently seem to have a void at that position, as it is unclear who, if anyone, will consistently replace the production they used to get from Smith-Schuster and Hill.
The good news is that star tight end Travis Kelce returned after missing Week 1, while stud defensive lineman Chris Jones ended his contract holdout and played well against the Jaguars.
But if the Chiefs are to win another Vince Lombardi Trophy, they will need to find another stud in their passing game who they can rely on every week, especially come playoff time.
