The New York Jets’ 2023 NFL season might unravel if they don’t address their quarterback situation.
Zach Wilson has not played well as a replacement for the injured Aaron Rodgers.
The Jets recently added Trevor Siemian to their depth chart.
However, the 33rd Team NFL writer Ari Meirov suggests another quarterback who the Jets can add.
“The most realistic starting quarterback right now in the NFL that could make some sense if the Jets can win a couple of games is probably in Tennessee with Ryan Tannehill,” Meirov said.
The #Jets added Trevor Siemian to the QB room today, but that doesn’t rule out the possibility of trying to add a starter later in the year

Meirov cited some reasons that could make the Tannehill to New York contingency plan work.
First, his former offensive coordinator, Todd Downing, is currently a passing game coordinator with the Jets.
Second, the Jets considered adding Tannehill before getting Rodgers, per Meirov.
Third, Tannehill will become a free agent after the 2023 NFL season, making him an ideal stop-gap solution.
Finally, the Titans might want to check what they have with backup quarterbacks Malik Willis and Will Levis.
However, Meirov’s suggestion will only make sense if the Jets somehow continue to win.
They have a defense that can dictate the outcome of games.
If a playoff berth is within reach, having a veteran quarterback like Tannehill could help them get over the hump.
But if they keep on losing games, it would not make sense.
