The Los Angeles Chargers suffered a major blow to start the 2023 NFL season with star running back Austin Ekeler going down and missing the last two games, which the team split, losing to the Tennessee Titans and beating the Minnesota Vikings.
Fortunately for the Chargers, it appears the team might be on the verge of getting Ekeler back on the gridiron, with the veteran back participating in practice on Wednesday, according to Bridget Condon of NFL Network via Dov Kleiman.

In Week 1, Ekeler was a major reason why the Chargers were able to go back and forth with the Miami Dolphins in a shootout at SoFi Stadium, as he racked up 117 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries while also catching four passes for 47 yards.
When Ekeler is healthy and ready to go, the Chargers are a much more dangerous team offensively, as that will be the case this weekend when they host the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders.
Even though the Raiders are going through their fair share of struggles this season and will likely be without veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo due to a concussion, Los Angeles will significantly benefit from the return of Ekeler, as he could have a big day against the lowly defense of Las Vegas.
The Chargers will hope to get a win this weekend to get to .500 before their schedule gets tougher with back-to-back games against the elite defense of the Dallas Cowboys and the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
