Ezekiel Elliott is in the middle of his first season as a member of the New England Patriots, and in Week 4, he gets to go up against the Dallas Cowboys, the team that selected him with the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Elliott spent the first seven years of his NFL career with the Cowboys, so he’ll probably have something to prove to the franchise that decided to move on from him this past offseason.
After the Patriots’ recent win over the New York Jets, the veteran running back was asked about how he’s feeling about going up against his former team.
“It’s going to be fun. I’m excited to go back to Dallas, a place where I have so much history, my home in the offseason. It will be cool to get back in AT&T [Stadium].”

Elliott also added that he was “disappointed” to leave Dallas after seven seasons but that he’s “excited to be a Patriot” as well.
During New England’s win over the Jets this past weekend, the veteran running back had his best performance in a Patriots uniform so far, rushing for 80 yards on 16 carries and catching one pass for seven yards.
Leading New England to a win over his old team in Week 4 certainly isn’t going to be easy for Elliott.
The Cowboys are coming off an embarrassing loss to a winless Arizona Cardinals team, so they’ll be looking to take out their frustrations on the Patriots.
Working in Elliott’s favor, however, is the fact that one of the weakest parts of Dallas’ team is their run defense.
The Cowboys are allowing the third-most rushing yards per attempt in the entire NFL through three games, so we can assume that this is one area that New England is going to attempt to attack in order to get a win.
