During the 2023 NFL regular season, the Miami Dolphins were, without a doubt, one of the best teams in the league, as head coach Mike McDaniel seemed to figure out how to get this team clicking on both sides of the football.
However, the Dolphins did benefit from having one of the easiest schedules in the NFL this season, which definitely worked in the team’s favor, as Miami made easy work of the lowly teams on their schedule.
Even though the Dolphins got the job done when they were expected to throughout the regular season, Miami struggled whenever it faced the toughest games on the schedule, namely the Buffalo Bills (twice), Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, and Baltimore Ravens.
Five of the team’s losses came against playoff teams, and one loss came against the Tennessee Titans.
With the season now over for the Dolphins, following the loss to the Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs, the team has started to reflect on the season, with left tackle Terron Armstead claiming this year wasn’t a successful one, via David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Even though it seems like a harsh assessment by Armstead, he’s not wrong, with the goal being to win a Super Bowl title for all teams in the league.
McDaniel would likely express the same sentiment, as the team didn’t achieve its only goal, and now it’s time to go back to the drawing board to see where this team can improve next season and make the next step to becoming Super Bowl champions.
