It has been a strange season for the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, as the team has dealt with all the added exposure of having Taylor Swift cheering on Travis Kelce in the stands while also struggling to find that groove offensively that has made them one of the best teams in the NFL for so many years.
One of the major issues for the Chiefs this season, which is perhaps their biggest issue up to this point, is the lack of receivers, outside of their superstar tight end, that can play well on a consistent basis.
Ever since the departure of superstar wideout Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs have been unable to replace him with a go-to threat downfield, which is starting to prove costly this season.
Fortunately, the team was able to bring back a familiar face this week, making a trade with the New York Jets to reacquire wide receiver Mecole Hardman, who will play in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to James Palmer of the NFL Network.

During the offseason, Hardman was one of a few players on the team that took advantage of Kansas City winning the Super Bowl and leveraging the added attention in NFL free agency.
Hardman signed a one-year deal with the Jets for $4 million and was thought to be a big piece of their offense, but things didn’t work out as he caught only one pass with the team before being dealt to the Chiefs.
The 25-year-old will have a chance to get back on track with the Chiefs and perhaps give Patrick Mahomes a consistent target downfield for the rest of the season.
