In what turned out to be a close game, the Green Bay Packers lost to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2 of the NFL Season.
This dropped the Packers’ record to 1-1, while the Falcons improved to 2-0.
Despite the loss, Jordan Love finished the game with three touchdown passes and no interceptions.
This was his second straight game with those stats, an indication that he is more than capable of taking over as the franchise QB.
While this might be the case, Jonathan Vilma discussed Love’s keys to success, what will really open up his game moving forward.
Vilma lauded Love’s overall command, but also said, “The only thing that’s needed now is to stretch the field.”

Love only attempted 25 passes throughout this game, completing 18.
He didn’t try many deep passes, and many of his deep balls ended up as incompletions.
This is something that Aaron Rodgers thrived with during this time as the Packers’ starter.
It appears that Love could certainly learn a thing or two from Rodgers in this area.
The Packers are now 1-1 and will begin preparing for their Week 3 matchup with the New Orleans Saints, their first home game of the season.
With any luck, Love can take Vilma’s comments to heart, learning how to reel in the deep ball.
If he can accomplish that, there’s no telling how high his ceiling will be for the rest of the season.
Love has already captivated the majority of the Green Bay fanbase, and dialing in his game even more will likely sway any of his doubters.
