NFL analysts expected both the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos to fare much better this season.
The Bears made several moves to revamp their team around Justin Fields, but have been unwilling or unable to use him the way he wants to be used.
Their short leash and determination to make him a pocket passer have hurt his ability to make an impact, and the defense hasn’t exactly helped his case.
However, former NFL star Jason McCourty believes it’s more surprising to see the Broncos struggle this much.

In his latest appearance on Good Morning Football, McCourty talked about how new coaches often try to impose their culture and some players may or may not buy into their system right away because they’re not proven.
However, Sean Payton is a made guy in this league, someone who has been there and done that, and one would expect the players to immediately jump on board and fight for him, which hasn’t been the case thus far.
McCourty claims this team has shown no fight, which is not what you’d expect from a team coached by Payton.
He thinks players should know that they would lose their jobs if they don’t bring in their A-Game because that’s just the way Payton develops a winning culture, but that hasn’t happened thus far, obviously.
It’s still early in the season, and all it takes is a string of good games to turn things around.
But, for now, the Broncos aren’t much better than they were last season,
