The Miami Heat have been trying to get Damian Lillard for most of the offseason.
Lillard and his camp have reportedly told the rest of the teams that he won’t be happy playing anywhere else and reports state that he would only consider attending training camp for either the Heat or the Portland Trail Blazers.
Needless to say, showing up to Blazers camp won’t mean he’s happy with the team and is ready to run it back, so it’s not like they should just hope he changes his mind overnight.
With that in mind, some insiders state that the Blazers and Heat have picked up talks about a potential transaction, which would obviously be centered around Tyler Herro.

That’s why the Kentucky shooting guard took to Twitter to share a cryptic message, posting just a cap emoji.
Truth be told, it’s impossible to envision any potential deal for Lillard that doesn’t include Tyler Herro; it just wouldn’t make any sense.
The only way to keep Herro off the deal would be to include either Jimmy Butler or Bam Adebayo, thus killing all Lillard interest in playing for the Heat in the first place.
The Blazers have been unimpressed by Herro or any of the potential trade packages Pat Riley’s team has had to offer so far.
But with training camp just around the corner and a disgruntled star still looking to be traded, they might have to meet them in the middle at some point.
