During the NBA offseason, all signs pointed to the Portland Trail Blazers and Miami Heat coming to terms on a blockbuster trade that would send superstar guard Damian Lillard to South Beach.
Once Lillard made his trade demand to the Blazers, he let it be known that the only team he wanted to play for after leaving Portland was Miami because he wanted to team up with close friend Bam Adebayo and star guard/forward Jimmy Butler.
Unfortunately for the Heat, the Blazers seemed to have no intention of ever sending Lillard to Miami, as they didn’t like the trade packages that were being offered by the defending Eastern Conference champions.
On Wednesday, the Milwaukee Bucks were able to swoop in and acquire Lillard from the Blazers in a three-way deal that involved the Suns, and that’s not sitting well with Butler or Tyler Herro, who thinks some tampering has gone on.

This is an interesting statement from Butler because if there was any tampering going on, it was likely from the Heat, as they were courting Lillard the entire time and were likely doing everything within their power to make this deal come to fruition.
Obviously, this is a very vague statement from Butler with no context as to what he means by the Bucks tampering to get this trade to go their way.
It’ll be interesting to see if Butler and Herro putting up a stink about this deal will result in an investigation by the league and if that will impact the Blazers and Bucks in any way.
