Every time a controversy happens in the NBA, the Charlotte Hornets somehow seemingly manage to find themselves in the middle of it.
This time around, the Hornets’ Kai Jones has been on the receiving end of a lot of backlash from the NBA community after a series of bizarre social media posts.
The 22-year-old center may find his position with the Hornets in jeopardy for the 2023-24 season.
In fact, according to The Charlotte Observer via NBACentral on Twitter, Jones’ position on the team’s roster for training camp is murky as he hasn’t even been a part of the players’ voluntary sessions.

The way that Jones has behaved over the last few days, it’s no surprise that his place on the team is in jeopardy.
Considering Jones isn’t even primarily a star player for the Hornets, the organization may not even think twice before letting go of his services.
He averaged 3.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game in the 2022-23 season.
But over the last two seasons, Jones has featured in just 67 games for the team.
If he wants to become a regular player for the Hornets, he needs to improve on his durability and try to play consistently in the regular season.
More importantly, Jones needs to keep himself focused and stay off the distractions on social media.
Can Jones manage that?
