Life comes at you fast, especially in the NBA.
Just a couple of years ago, the Golden State Warriors and Detroit Pistons got into a bit of a scuffle, with Rodney McGruder at the center point of it.
Needless to say, that led to some mockery and trolling, as McGruder wasn’t exactly known for his toughness — or known at all — around NBA circles.
That includes Warriors star Klay Thompson, who didn’t play due to injury but was a part of the broadcast, and he was completely ruthless to his colleague, stating that he was probably mad because he wouldn’t even be in the league two years from then (via Legion Hoops).

Fast forward to today, and guess which team signed McGruder? Yeah, you’ve got it.
Just when everybody thought Dwight Howard was going to be the newest member of Dub Nation, GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Steve Kerr pivoted and made a rather surprising decision.
Now, McGruder will have to share the locker room and the film room with the very guy who he called out on national television, and that’s got to be awkward.
Notably, that’s not even going to be the first pair of former foes who are now forced to coexist in the Bay area.
It’s not a secret that Draymond Green never liked Chris Paul, and he’s openly admitted that he actually hated him.
But at the end of the day, they’re all professionals and will have no choice but to rally together and push toward the same goal.
