The Damian Lillard trade saga reached a conclusion after he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Lillard demanded a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers after spending 11 seasons with the organization.
The reason is that he never even got the whiff of winning an NBA championship while being a member of the Trail Blazers.
Lillard wanted to be traded to the Miami Heat following his trade request from the team that drafted him.
Speaking of which, the Heat’s trade package for acquiring Lillard was recently unveiled by NBA insider Shams Charania via Ball Don’t Lie on Twitter.
The Heat wanted to offer Tyler Herro, Nikola Jovic, 3 first-round picks, first-round pick swaps and multiple second-round picks for Damian Lillard, but Portland had no interest, per @ShamsCharania. pic.twitter.com/pPV6zNYtA6

The Trail Blazers were expected to trade with the Heat, but they ultimately didn’t go ahead with that decision.
As far as the package is concerned, the Trail Blazers were offered a trade package around Tyler Herro, Nikola Jovic, and multiple draft picks by the Miami Heat.
However, the organization wasn’t interested in it.
Instead, the Trail Blazers accepted a trade package around Jrue Holiday to finally allow Dame to move to a different location.
The biggest takeaway is the part that the Trail Blazers do not even want Holiday on the roster.
It was recently reported that the franchise is open to trade Holiday to a contender.
It means that the franchise is focusing on rebuilding around the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Scoot Henderson.
While Henderson possesses great potential, allowing Lillard to leave could have adverse effects on the Trail Blazers in the long run.
