Early in the 2023-24 NBA regular season, no one knew what to expect from the Philadelphia 76ers in the aftermath of the blockbuster trade to send superstar guard James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers.
The 2023-24 campaign could’ve been a disaster for Philadelphia, but the opposite has happened, with the team coming into their own, led by reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid and up-and-comer Tyrese Maxey.
The 76ers are currently sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference, with Embiid working on winning his second MVP award and the team being a legitimate force to be reckoned with.
Although the 76ers are clearly a team that is determined to make its presence felt come playoff time, Philadelphia isn’t exactly content with its roster at the moment and has been linked to a few notable players ahead of the NBA trade deadline.
One of those names is guard Tyus Jones of the Washington Wizards, but it doesn’t appear the team is willing to meet the asking price, via Hardwood Paroxysm and NBACentral.
The Sixers are interested in Tyus Jones, per @HPbasketball
“The 76ers are one team that would love to add Jones, but are only offering well below the asking price, which includes a first-round pick, at this point.”

In the 37 games he’s played for the Wizards this season, Jones has averaged a career-high 12.6 points, 5.5 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game, shooting 52.6% from the floor and 43.1% from beyond the arc.
Jones has taken his game to another level this season while playing only three more minutes per game compared to what he was doing with the Memphis Grizzlies last season.
He’d be a great addition to the 76ers, providing some backcourt depth and giving the team another reliable player along with Maxey and Embiid.
