The Dallas Mavericks have a dynamic duo with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving on the roster.
Irving became a member of the team last season.
The Mavs hoped adding Irving would make them instantly the favorites to win the title.
However, the Mavericks missed the postseason after finishing as the 11th seed in the Western Conference.
Speaking of Irving’s arrival with the Mavs, coach God Shammgod shared his thoughts on it via ClutchPoints on Twitter.
“It’s funny because when he first came, I was like, ‘Oh yeah, cool, now we got the second-best dribbler in the NBA,” Shammgod said.

God Shammgod is widely regarded as one of the best dribblers in basketball history.
So much so that he has a crossover named after him, despite playing just 20 games in the NBA.
These days, Shammgod serves as a player development coach for the Dallas Mavericks.
He can certainly help Irving become an even better version of himself.
Irving averaged 27.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists in 20 games for the Mavericks last season.
Individually, Kyrie had a good run with the Mavericks, but his numbers didn’t result in victories for the organization.
Despite that, the Mavericks re-signed Irving to a three-year, $126 million contract.
Irving is currently 31 years old and still in his prime, so it’s a good investment, at least on the paper.
However, Irving has become notorious for destroying relationships with the team, as indicated by his stints with the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets.
Will Irving do the same with the Mavericks? Or will he finally win the second NBA Championships of his career? We will find out when the 2023-24 NBA season begins in October.
