The NBA is abuzz over the three-team deal agreed to on Wednesday that will send seven-time All-Star Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks.
It has seemingly left some other teams in the dust, including the Dallas Mavericks, who already have a fine star duo in their own right with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
That duo needs plenty of help after their first several weeks together ended with the Mavs failing to qualify for the play-in tournament at the end of last season.
This summer, the team has made some decent under-the-radar moves, and one of them was being involved in a three-team trade of its own that brought in Grant Williams from the Boston Celtics.
Doncic had some nice things to say about his new teammate, via the team on Twitter.

Williams, a 6-foot-6, 236-pound forward, is considered a 3-and-D player, and he shot 39.5 percent from 3-point range last season in Boston.
One of the Mavericks’ biggest problems last season was their lack of defense — they ranked just 25th in defensive rating, and Williams should help in that category.
They also brought in sharpshooter Seth Curry, who had previously played for them during two different stints in the 2016-17 and 2019-20 seasons.
However, the simple reality is that while the Mavs may be able to return to the playoffs this season, they aren’t anywhere close to title contenders.
They have a lack of supplementary firepower outside of Doncic and Irving, and their defense may still be lacking overall, despite the arrival of Williams.
Owner Mark Cuban still has work to do to make Dallas into a winner again.
