Trading for Damian Lillard would give any team in the NBA a chance to compete for the championship.
After months of rumors surrounding the future of Dame, he was finally traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in shocking news.
Lillard was heavily linked to the Miami Heat throughout the summer as he named the franchise as his preferred location to be traded to.
But he was ultimately traded to the Bucks and will form a dynamic superstar duo with Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Speaking of which, former NBA superstar Kevin Garnett shared his reaction to the news via his official Twitter handle.
“Portland did right by Dame,” he wrote.

Garnett believes that the Trail Blazers made the right decision by trading Lillard to the Bucks.
In essence, it allows Lillard to have a shot at winning the 2024 NBA title.
Giannis remains one of the best players in the NBA over the last few seasons.
He won two NBA MVPs and also led the Bucks to the championship in 2021.
Keeping that in mind, Dame has been traded to a much better location than the Heat.
While the Heat have qualified for two NBA Finals in the last four NBA seasons, they have failed to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy each time.
On the other hand, the Bucks have won one NBA title in the same timeframe.
Lillard’s trade to the Bucks was a direct result of Giannis threatening to leave the team if they failed to build a championship-worthy roster around him.
But is adding Lillard enough for the team?
