The Los Angeles Lakers finally got back to .500 during the 2023-24 NBA season after a thrilling win over the Toronto Raptors.
The Lakers barely edged out the Raptors, but they managed to do so largely in part due to Anthony Davis who is having an MVP-caliber season.
Davis dominated Toronto for most of the night, but he saved his best for the final few minutes of the game where he made plays on both ends to ensure L.A. took home the win.
While Davis should be getting more recognition for the season he’s having, it also highlights the team’s lack of quality bigs behind him.
Christian Wood has been good since returning to the rotation, but Jaxson Hayes finds himself buried on the bench.
Los Angeles could use another big man, and Kendrick Perkins believes they should go after Bismack Biyombo via his personal Twitter account.
“Lakers,” Perkins tweeted.

The Memphis Grizzlies waived Bismack Biyombo, and while the center could find himself back with the team he’ll likely have his fair share of suitors.
Biyombo has never been more than a backup center in the league, but he provides a level of rebounding and screening that any playoff-hopeful team could use.
Los Angeles was linked to Biyombo during free agency in the summer and they could look to finally bring him on the roster.
The Lakers are reportedly one of the more active teams ahead of the annual trade deadline, but without a deal on the horizon adding someone like Biyombo would be an easier way to add talent immediately.
