The FIBA World Cup is now over, as Germany took home the title for the first time.
While Team Germany played well throughout this event, Team USA were heavy favorites heading into the games.
The USA has typically been a dominant force in the FIBA World Cup and the Olympics but fell short this year.
After the games, Kemba Walker discussed the overall development of the game of basketball across the globe.
According to Walker via Digits Hoops, “If you look at the NBA, the dominant players are mainly European.
“Basketball has developed enormously. If you look at the NBA, the dominant players are mainly European. The game respects the most prepared team. Unfortunately Team USA just wasn’t the most prepared team this year. It happens.”

Walker also said, “The game respects the most prepared team,” adding, “Team USA just wasn’t the most prepared team this year.”
In these comments, Walker gave respect to the other teams they competed against.
He understood how well-prepared they were, and that the United States was not able to put its best foot forward.
In the aftermath of this unexpected loss in the FIBA World Cup, fans have already tried to recruit better players for the 2024 Olympics.
LeBron James is one of the NBA veterans who is already committed to playing, and it seems that many superstars are slated to join him.
For longtime fans of Team USA, this charge is oddly reminiscent of the “Redeem Team.”
The “Redeem Team” was an opportunity for the United States to prove to the world they still had what it took to win the gold medal.
Will the new version of this team be able to get the job done in the 2024 games?
