Playing as a point guard is not everyone’s cup of tea in the NBA.
A point guard is responsible for facilitating a team’s offense while being a good scorer.
Over the years, many great point guards have graced the hardwood with their presence.
But who’s the greatest point guard of all time?
Usually, the likes of Magic Johnson and Stephen Curry get the nod from fans.
In fact, the latter declared himself as the GOAT point guard recently.
However, that title doesn’t belong to either player, per NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Kareem revealed his pick for the greatest point guard of all time via theScore on Twitter.
“I don’t think you’re going to want to hear this. Oscar Robertson. The O. I only had the chance to play with him at the end of his career, but he was awesome.” Adbul-Jabbar said.

Abdul-Jabbar picked Oscar Robertson as his GOAT point guard. It’s certainly an unpopular choice in the NBA community.
Kareem shared the court with him for four seasons as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks. The two legends also won the 1971 NBA Championships for the Bucks.
Many expected Abdul-Jabbar to pick Magic Johnson as the greatest point guard of all time. After all, he won five NBA titles with Magic and played most of his career with him.
As for Robertson, he retired from the league as a 1x NBA Champion, 1x MVP, 11x All-NBA, 12x NBA All-Star, and 6x NBA Assists Champion.
Robertson was also inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980 as a player. While not many would have Robertson as their GOAT point guard, they certainly cannot overlook his achievements during his career.
Moreover, an NBA legend like Abdul-Jabbar choosing him over Johnson and Curry is the epitome of Robertson’s impact on the league.
