NBA star James Harden would never miss a good chance to visit Miami, especially if the season hasn’t even started.
That’s why it wasn’t surprising to see him attend the U.S. Cup final matchup between Inter Miami and the Houston Dynamo, as shown by NBA Central.

Notably, Harden is a minority owner of the Dynamo, dating back to his days with the Houston Rockets, so he obviously had some big interest in this game.
Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t able to watch Argentine superstar Lionel Messi play, as he was out with an injury.
Still, Harden’s dynamo got a hard-fought 1-2 win, claiming the U.S. Cup title.
His stand-off with the Philadelphia 76ers organization has no end in sight, and that kind of distraction can’t be good for the team.
Harden has a history of making things difficult when he’s not comfortable, and even though he has never played for coach Nick Nurse, it’s hard to think he’ll be able to buy in and compete at the highest level if he doesn’t want to be there.
Harden vowed never to play for an organization that employs Daryl Morey in any capacity, but the GM has been unmoved by that kind of criticism and refuses to engage in trade talks for him.
Dragging this situation into the season might not be in their best interest, but Morey has always had a reputation of being a stubborn negotiator, so he’s unlikely to change his mind on this subject.
