The start of NBA training camps is only a few weeks away, with every team in the league gearing up for the preseason and another 82-game grind to follow.
Although the season is drawing near, there’s been no resolution to the James Harden situation with the Philadelphia 76ers, as he has yet to be traded, even though he publicly bashed general manager Daryl Morey recently.
Throughout the process, since Harden opted into the last year of his deal and promptly requested to be traded, the one-time NBA MVP let it be known that he wanted to be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Although that seemed like a scenario that might be possible, with the Clippers seemingly showing interest in getting a deal done to acquire the superstar guard, the two sides have failed to see eye-to-eye and have apparently once again called off trade talks.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Clippers have shut down traded talks with the 76ers via NBA Retweet.

It seems as though these trade talks about been called off on more than one occasion for whatever reason.
The compensation is almost always why talks get called off, as one team may not like what is being offered in a potential trade scenario.
As for the Clippers, Steve Ballmer and company have all the leverage because Harden wants to come to Los Angeles, which means the Clippers could be lowballing the 76ers.
Although talks have been called off for the time being, it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see these two teams engage again in the weeks ahead.
