The Milwaukee Bucks just got one of the best scorers in modern NBA history.
Acquiring Damian Lillard is obviously a huge move, especially considering they already had a championship-caliber core in place.
However, as great as Lillard is, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst actually believes that whichever team lands Jrue Holiday could feel even better about their championship chances than the Bucks.
“What happens with Jrue Holiday and where he ends up in the next couple of weeks could be a bigger outcome on an NBA title than this trade with Dame Lillard.”

In his recent appearance on Get Up, the insider explained that any team that wanted to get Holiday would’ve had to give away a star player and draft picks to get him out of Milwaukee.
That’s no longer the case, as the Portland Trail Blazers would only ask for some draft compensation in return, which opens the door for multiple contenders to try and make a run at him.
Windhorst named the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, and others as teams that could potentially try and acquire Holiday, who he called a plug-and-play two-way player with no ego and championship DNA.
Holiday is one of the most impactful defenders in the game, as he’s long enough to guard multiple positions and has never hesitated to put his body on the line on 50/50 possessions or go over screens.
He can also score from all three levels and work as an on-ball or off-ball facilitator, and he could give whichever team lands him a massive boost.
Lillard’s trade was a league-altering deal for so many reasons, and that includes the Jrue Holiday sweepstakes.
Who’s going to get him?
