Fans of the Portland Trail Blazers have been wondering one thing a lot lately: what happens if their team doesn’t accept any proposed deal for Damian Lillard from the Miami Heat?
Will Lillard keep playing in Portland if the Blazers continue to turn up their noses at what the Heat offer?
Or will the team’s front office make moves with another franchise?
What other teams would even try to get Lillard?
According to Sam Amico, via NBACentral, at least several other teams beyond just the Heat have considered trading for Lillard.
Does this mean there is an actual trade market for the star?

Just because other teams have considered trading for Lillard doesn’t mean any of them actually will.
There is a lot of baggage tied to the seven-time All-Star now.
When he demanded a trade to one specific team, he soured many other front offices from even attempting to acquire him.
They don’t want to spend a lot of money and time on a player who will ultimately be unhappy.
Why would they try to sign Lillard if he’ll always be wanting to make his way to Miami?
But perhaps conditions have changed or will change soon.
Maybe behind-the-scenes figures tied to Lillard or the Blazers have made it clear that he really will play hard even if he’s not with Miami.
If Lillard knows his chances of going to the Heat are gone, he might reconsider his future.
He could decide maybe he can be happy with a number of teams.
If that is the case, a slew of front offices will pick up the phone.
That’s because Lillard is still one of the best guards alive, no matter what sort of baggage this trade drama has brought him.
