Over the past couple of weeks, a big-name player that has frequently been mentioned in trade rumors ahead of the NBA trade deadline has been one-time All-Star Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks.
Two years after acquiring Murray from the San Antonio Spurs to pair with superstar guard Trae Young in the backcourt, the Hawks are ready to cut their losses and admit the backcourt pairing didn’t work.
With the Hawks ready to move on from Murray, there appears to be no shortage of interest in his services, as he is still a talented player with a potentially bright future ahead in the right situation.
According to John Hollinger of The Athletic, the Hawks are willing to add more assets to a Murray trade in order to make a trade that much more intriguing for interested teams, with Clint Capela or De’Andre Hunter possibly being packaged with the former All-Star, via Legion Hoops.

Murray alone is an attractive trade piece, but it’s possible that the Hawks haven’t been getting the kind of offers they like in return, potentially forcing them to add more to get a deal done.
The Hawks guard is looking like one of the most likely players in the league to get moved before the NBA trade deadline, with the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers being perhaps the most notable suitors to land the 27-year-old.
Murray is currently averaging some solid numbers with 21.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game, shooting 46.9% from the floor and 39.1% from beyond the arc.
