The New York Knicks shook the NBA landscape over the weekend when they swung a deal with the Toronto Raptors to bring in OG Anunoby.
The Knicks sent out Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, and a 2024 second-round pick to land Precious Achiuwa, Malachi Flynn, and Anunoby.
New York is apparently all-in on the 2023-24 NBA season after making such an aggressive move, though there are already reports that the team might not be done dealing.
Although giving away talented young players in Quickley and Barrett hurts, the Knicks still have enough assets to make another trade.
Anunoby is widely considered one of the best 3-and-D players in the league today, though his arrival in NY didn’t do much for their projections via Bovada.
“Knicks’ championship odds before the OG trade: +7000. Knicks’ championship odds now: +7000,” Bovada posted.

It’s odd that the Knicks’ championship odds didn’t change at all given the Anunoby addition, but that could change if the team makes another deal in the coming months.
New York still has a ways to go to climb up the Eastern Conference standings as the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers are still considered the favorites.
However, the Knicks project as a tough postseason out no matter who they play because of their physical defense and slow style of play.
For now, it will be interesting to see how quickly Anunoby settles in with his new team.
Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle are the clear-cut options for New York, but Anunoby is deserving of his fair share of touches as well.
