The NBA landscape had some major movement on Wednesday afternoon.
That is because the prolonged Damian Lillard saga has finally come to a close.
In a blockbuster three-team trade, the Portland Trail Blazers agreed to send Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks for a package of players.
This was a deal that no one saw coming.
Many people thought if Lillard were to be traded he would be headed to the Miami Heat.
Instead, he heads to Milwaukee and now they are the new favorites to win the Eastern Conference.
You can bet a ton of NBA fans are lost for words after seeing this trade.

Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo are arguably the top duo in basketball.
Their games mesh perfectly with one another.
Giannis is a great interior scorer and defensive player, while Lillard is one of the best shooters in the NBA.

Milwaukee is now the betting favorite to win the NBA title.
All that does is bring along major expectations for a team that fell short last year.
Not even making the Finals will not suffice with this team, so they must win it all to consider this move a success.
One team that has to be kicking themselves right now is the Heat.
Lillard made it clear earlier in the offseason that Miami is where he wanted to be.
Even with that, the Heat were unable to get a deal done.
I can’t believe a star player (Damian Lillard) finally requested, “Miami and only Miami,” and the Heat couldn’t trade for him.
It may not be Pat Riley and company’s fault, the Trail Blazers could have simply refused. Either way, a major disappointment.

The only significant player the Bucks lost in this deal was All-Star Jrue Holiday.
He was traded to Portland in this deal and the Bucks will miss his defensive prowess.
But, Lillard is a once-in-a-generation player and the Bucks could not pass him up.
