The moment all NBA fans were waiting for is finally here: Damian Lillard has been traded.
However, it wasn’t to the Miami Heat as most people expected, or to the Toronto Raptors or Chicago Bulls as some insiders claimed.
Instead, he’ll get to join forces with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez with the Milwaukee Bucks.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Bucks and Portland Trail Blazers reached an agreement on a three-team deal that also involves the Phoenix Suns.
Lillard goes Milwaukee as part of a 3-team deal with Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, a 2029 unprotected MIL 1st, and unprotected MIL swap rights in 2028 and 2030 to Blazers. Phoenix lands Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little and Keon Johnson. https://t.co/Ge0H91AiIA

Simply put, the Bucks will get Lillard, while the Blazers get Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, a 2029 1st-round pick, and the Suns get Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little, and Keon Johnson.
The Suns were also huge winners from this transaction, as they now have a more traditional big in Nurkic instead of Ayton, whose desire and compromise had been questioned multiple times.
They also add a young and intriguing piece in Little and more depth.
As for the Bucks, they made the championship-winning move Antetokounmpo wanted them to make, so this could have a significant ripple effect on whether he signs a contract extension with them or not.
Last but not least, the Blazers get another young building block in Ayton, who’s still quite young and was a No. 1 pick not so long ago, all while potentially getting more first-round picks if they move Holiday
One can only wonder if this was the best value they could get for Lillard, but this trade will change the whole picture next season, that’s for sure.
