The Cleveland Cavaliers have a decision to make, and it’s not one about their roster.
The team’s president of basketball operations, Koby Altman, was arrested and charged with impaired driving on Friday night.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the team released a statement about the arrest.
The statement reads:
“We are aware of an incident involving Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman. We are currently gathering more information and have no further comment at this time.”

That is the sort of statement that gives a lot of flexibility to the team.
In the future, they can choose to keep Altman on board and let him retain his job.
Or they could choose to cut ties and fire him.
Altman has been with the organization for more than ten years now and has worked his way up to the very important position he has now.
He has been a crucial part of the team’s rebuilding process, which saw them acquire Donovan Mitchell last summer and then make their way into the playoffs this year.
Altman has put himself in a very tricky and compromised position.
He will surely face some sort of repercussions but will this cost him his job?
The upcoming season will be yet another very important one for the Cavaliers.
If they are able to truly capitalize on all the talent they have gained over the last few years, the team could possibly make it far in the postseason.
Will Altman be a part of it?
You can expect that the team will hand down a judgment for Altman soon so they can have this all sorted out before the regular season begins next month.
