The Los Angeles Angels are trying to find something positive to take from this season.
The injuries to Mike Trout and a few other key players have derailed their year once again.
But, there is one young player who is making noise over the last month of the season.
That is rookie catcher Logan O’Hoppe.
The Angles acquired O’Hoppe last season from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for Brandon Marsh.
You can bet both teams feel pretty good about their sides of the deal.
O’Hoppe has been great in September, doing things that are rarely seen from rookies.
According to MLB Pipeline, O’Hoppe has hit eight home runs in September which is the second most by an Angels rookie.

In another dull season in LA, at least O’Hoppe is giving the Angels something to be happy about.
He looks like the catcher of the future and the Angels should be thrilled about that.
But the main question is: What does the Angels’ future look like?
Most of their success in recent years has hinged on the play of Trout and Shohei Ohtani.
But, Trout cannot stay healthy and Ohtani is set to be a free agent this offseason.
If the Angels want any chance of competing for a playoff spot in the near future they need to bring Ohtani back.
He is a true difference maker and letting him walk could set back their franchise for many years.
Even with the emergence of O’Hoppe, it may not matter if they cannot get the best from their stars.
