Spring training, for some teams, started on Monday.
The New York Mets are one of those teams: they have already opened camp, as pitchers and catchers started to report at the dawn of the week.
The team went to its official Twitter account to post a hype video at the start of spring training.
“And we are back”, they wrote, while they showed some of the best plays and achievements of the 2023 season.

Under the new leadership of president of baseball operations David Stearns, the Mets have slowly built a team that could potentially compete in the upcoming season.
They still have Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo, Kodai Senga, Edwin Diaz, Jeff McNeil, Starling Marte and burgeoning star Francisco Alvarez, plus some MLB-ready young performers like Brett Baty and Mark Vientos.
When Billy Eppler was running the show last year, the Mets traded some veterans for prospects and replenished their farm system with future stars like Luisangel Acuna, Ryan Clifford, Drew Gilbert, Marco Vargas and others.
If the team wants to compete in 2024, some of those players will come in handy, either by making their debut or by being trade pieces.
In the meantime, the Mets are entering spring training as a team with somewhat lower expectations than those of last year.
With players like Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, and David Robertson on the roster to open camp in 2023, they were expected to compete for the World Series.
This time, they enter the year in a position of less pressure, but still obligated to at least set the foundation to be contenders in 2025.
New York has a solid roster in place and could surprise more than a few people with their 2024 performance.
